well the gas reason will be interesting since i've had the car since saturday and not only have I not put gas in but I haven't even popped the damn gas door. I really hope that's what they blame, I'll flip. And why not here's my car. I just love it so much.

I was just poking around on the internet and it seems this problem is quite common. When you go to the dealer make sure your ECU has the latest update and they check your fuel solenoid and the purge valve (this was changed on mine but didn't fix the problem). If you can, get the errror code from them so I can see if it is the same as mine. Are you experiencing any powerloss when accelerating faster than normal? Some people are complaining that the engine chokes a little bit when they accelerate harder and now that I think about it mine does the same thing. I think that can be fixed with the ECU update.

yeah....these check engine light issues are a real inconvinience to say the least. As far as Mazda service goes, so far for me it has been much less than satisfactory, I had my airbags stolen after I had the car for a week so it spent the next 3 weeks in the dealership getting repaired...it came out horrible, the airbags went in fine but it was dirty inside, it had grease setains all over the white cealing and other places as well, I spent 2 weekends reconditioniogn everythign back to brand new condition w/ oxyclean, they also didn't put back all the plastic parts back, most of them I found under the seat and put back myself, still missing one a plastic paanel that goes under the glove box..I spoke with the dealer, they will replace it but there is no way I'm leaving my car there again..so now I have to go there for him to look at it and order the right part and again when it comes in so they can install it.

My CEL went on briefly as well and went away last week....I gotta admit the car is really a fun drive and I love it but if things go this way my next car will not be a mazda, and thats sad because the car is nice, they just don't bak it up with reliable service.

Man that really sucks... Luckily since I am in Orlando I have about 4 different mazda dealers within 30 minutes of my house. If they dont tell me something intelligent the next time I bring my car in for the ECU update or whatever the CEL problem is, I will definately be switching. Why is it so hard to get good service these days? Besides the CEL issue, the service department is the only real downfall for my car. I love everything else.

I have had my Speed6 for 3 weeks and now my CEL is on, 800 miles. Called the dealer and made a appt for Monday. Car is a blast to drive, clutch sucks.

The Dealership said it was a bad fuel cap and they replaced it. First time for service at a Mazda shop. They were very nice. They also told me they were giving me a free oil change when I need one. While I waited they had two computers for internet use and a TV set up for gaming in the customer waiting area.

They keep this up and it could be a long relationship.

Yea, I had mine for about 3 years nowwith 24,000 miles on it and the check engine light came on. I was driving down the road and the car just went crazy. It lost all power and at idle the RPM's bounce up and down almost stalling. I drove it about 24 miles total to Autozone and back and my engine was smoking when I got back to my house. My exhaust manifold was smoking hot. The guy at Autozone plugged up the computer to it and said it was a faulty gas/air mix ratio and there was a problem with my Mass Air Flow Sensor. Stupid piece of crap cost me $138 dollars and weeks of no driving. I know this probably has nothing to do with this forum, but thought I'd comment on my CEL situation.
