In CA, mazda 6i is still so expensive. Last weekend LA times, 09 mazda 6i sport Msrp $21,920, sales at $18,464 at redlands mazda. Only 49 mazda 6i sports and 3 mazda 6i Sv are availabe in near 20 dealers via mazdausa.com. That is the reason why people have to buy nissan altima or toyota camry in Los Angeles.

Is the price is out of door? How much discount before tax and lic? Mazda 6s is the best choice of all mazda6 trims.

The Altima 2.5 comes with nothing - not even things that most buyers consider basic items in this day and age. That said, the base price is still above the base price of a Sonata or Optima. At that trim level, it doesn't have anywhere near the options of the Sonata, Optima and certainly not the Mazda6. If you equip an Altima with the same features as a Mazda6, the Altima comes out considerably more expensive.
Firget about the Mazda3 - again you are trying to compare apples to oranges. The 3 is a compact sedan and has nothing to do with a mid-size car comparison.
The Mazda 6s is a 6-cyl. Now compare that to the Altima 6-cyl and then the Altima really becomes ridiculously more expensive than any of the vehicles you mentioned. It is also considerably more expensive to operate because it is the only one in the bunch that requires premium fuel.
Now moving on to the Mazda6i ... it is still considerably better equipped than a Nissan Altima 2.5. Traction control alone would run you a couple thousand dollars. I don't know why you can't seem to comprehend an apples to apples comparison. Let's presume you paid $10 for a movie ticket and it came with a free popcorn, Raisinettes and a Coke at Theatre A and paid $8.50 at Theatre B for a movie ticket only. Based on your logic, Theatre B would be the better bargain.
As for your comment: "Mazda 6s is the best choice of all mazda6 trims" First, 6s is not a "trim." It is a completely different engine than the 6i. Secondly, I think it's pretty arrogant to think that what's best for you is best for everyone. I don't want a 6-cyl period. I drive 25K+ miles per year and the cost of fuel and maintenance comes to thousands of dollars savings per year to drive a 4-cyl. Better MPG, cheaper tuneups, cheaper everything.
That price you posted for the 6i is below the Camry CE (Crap Edition? the lowest model Camry they make) so you just argued your own point there by proving the 6 is cheaper.
I paid $23,158 + tax for my Mazda6i GT and if you read the forums there are plenty of other guys who got similar deals. I could have gotten a 6i Sport instead for ~$16,900. The fact that you are shopping based on newspaper lost leader ads shows that you don't have much/any experience in car shopping.
Your prices are wrong AGAIN by the way. MSRP on a Mazda6i Sport automatic is $21,350. I have no idea where you are getting your data but every single thing you have posted has been incorrect. I hope you are not getting the MSRP from the newspaper ads also.
Look if you want an Altima, then get one. It's a great car. However, everything in regards to price that you have posted is 100% incorrect and I would hate to see you or anyone buy based on false and/or inaccurate information.
Head on over to Edmunds.com and get the proper prices on these vehicles. Then stop at Nissan, Mazda and Toyota and get the promotional books for each of these sedans. Sit down and match up the trim levels with their proper counterpart from each company since you obviously have no idea what comes with any of them. I don't think anyone else makes a car as poorly equipped as the Altima 2.5 but I suppose you can compare it to a Mazda 6i Sport for the sake of argument. Keep in mind however that you will still get more with the Mazda6i Sport. Once you are all done with that and have all your numbers on paper, take another $3000 off the Mazda for the rebates - rebates that aren't offered by Nissan or Toyota. Then you can take off another $500-2000 depending on your bargaining skills (I'm thinking $500 in your case) since Mazda will be a hell of a lot more likely to deal than Nissan or Toyota considering their sales are down over 30% this year. You will find yourself thousands below a comparably equipped Nissan or Toyota. You are still free to buy the Nissan but at least you have the facts straight at that point.
