Default greasing joints

So, back in the day, when I helped my dad change the oil on our cars, we would occasionally add grease to the joints. Does this have to be done with our modern mazdas? (I have an 06).

Not likely. Most cars now adays are made with sealed units.

No, I cannot imagine that you do. The only "modern" cars that I recall needing greasing were the Jaguars of the '80s.

My 74 Bronco is full of them...

Basically most people (90%+) don't work on their cars to do preventative maintenance, they just fix something once it's broken, so it's not worth it to spend the money on providing a ton of grease fittings on a car that won't get used.
