Harvesting body parts
I have a '07 Mazda 6, 5 door hatchback that suffered an act of attempted fratricide - my <relationship redacted to protect myself> backed into the rear, left door. It, and I, was crushed. Leaving the insurance vultures out of the repair equation, I'd like to know what donor vehicles can supply a replacement door? All the eBay fitment tables leave out the 5 door hatchback. They include the 2007 Mazda 6 i Sedan 4-Door, Mazda speed Sedan 4-Door and the S Sedan 4-Door, but none are brave enough to list the hot 5 door hatchback. So, will the door from any of these cars also fit my 5 door hatchback?

These guys talk about "Door Back (above the rear bumper)" and "Door Rear (on the side of the car)"
Since you are looking for a rear door on the driver side of the car it wont matter if it comes from a sedan or an hatch back. But: Verify with the yard you are buying from!!!
Best of luck and get well soon!

I hear you on the importance to verify what is actually on offer. Problem I run into now is the yards do not know all the years / body styles their doors will fit. I found this door on ebay. Yard responded back that it only fits the sedan model. Have to look closer to home if I want to be made whole again.
Thanks for the reply!

Typically the manufacturers try to get away with as few different stampings as possible. Most likely the rear doors of the sedan are also used in the hatch back and the wagon.
To get the definitive answer I suggest talking to a body shop or Mazda. Check the mazda parts numbers for your style and compare it with the number for the sedan an wagon. If they use the same number you know they are interchangeable.
