Juddering and notchy gearbox

Juddering and notchy gearbox
Hi
First time poster and new (used) Mazda owner;
2004 Mazda 6 2.0 TDS with 66k miles with FSH and recent MOT.
The car drives very well with a couple of exceptions;
The gearbox seems much more notchy and firmer to change than my outgoing 2002 Mondeo. Is this normal?
The car pulls well but when accelerating hard above 65mph, I get juddering feedback from the front of the car (not just through the wheel, also through the footwell and passenger side). This is exaggerated when under heavier load or uphill. Does anyone have any diagnostics for this?
Thanks
