Default K+N Cold Air Intake Review

Hi all. I have the 2.3 liter 4 speed. I thought I would give my review of the K+N CAI. First off I got it for $230.00 at k+n.com. It was a relatively trouble free install. Everything fit perfectly. It has a fantastic sound to it. You do not feel much of a difference over a stock setup until you hit 3200 to 3500 rpms. Then you can feel big difference. But the engine has a new growl that sounds great. Fuel mileage has increased 1-2 mpg. I get 30-31 mpg in the city and 36-37 on the highway. After 5,000 miles on it, there have been no problems with it. My advice is to make sure it is installed correctly! My only complaint about the K+N CAI is the price. It is overpriced. However, I tried the AEM SRI and it kept giving me CEL codes. So... I think you get what you pay for. I reccomend the kit to anyone. It is a simple way of having even more Zoom zoom!

Thanks for the writeup. Was there enough wiggle room for the unit under the hood? I plan on getting just the air filter replacement on my 6s for now. Want to check prices too.

I also got the typhoon intake for the M6i, but I found it on amazon. It was brand new for $168, no tax, no shipping!

I have the K&N drop in for my M6S V6, I also did an airbox mod and took out the tuba and the flapper, and I notice a great new sound to it as well as some added horses, but my gas millage hasn't changed much at all. I guess I could really check if I put all that junk back in it but what would be the point of that?

I remember you were waiting for that for a while. I'm glad that you like it. Sounds like it's helping you out a bit. I think K & N are the only people to look at for intakes.

http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...eID=1660335398 There is a picture. The installation is relatively easy. But I still had a mechanic do it.
