Default Lighter doesn't work

My lighter socket doesn't work so I can't use it for charging mobile, sat nav etc.

I've been quoted a ridiculous amount of money by my main dealer to investigate the fault so wondered if I could do it myself.

What could be wrong and how do I get it out to have a look?

My car is a 2006 Mazda 6 TS

Note all fuses are ok

Thanks

I have an 07 that has 2 sockets. Mine inside my center cosole had a loose wire. If you have a multimeter you can disconnect your batery and ohm test from your positive in the fuse block to your socket wall, then negative to pin inside socket. That is how I found out my positive had come loose.

Good Luck!
