Default Looking to buy 2017 Mazda 6

New to the forum and have a couple of questions. Was the extra sound deadening added for 2017? Any issues I need to look out for? Car is a 2017, manual, only 7000 km. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

Any extra sound deadening material is minimal. What’s is your concern target, road, stereo sound quality or some thin else?

All the model 2017 Mazda have the usual , a couple of recalls for replacement parts , the usual things think are Mazda problem but generally stem from lack of or not staying on top of service regular maintenance, really nothing stands out no more or less than any platform .

Thanks appreciate it. More concerned about road noise. I know the 2018's and up have increased dampening.

Not that I found? I added a lot to my 2018.
It is not hard to do nor is it expensive.

You can compare your Mazda. After I installed the deadener. You can tell the one panel I could nut reach. But that ok everything was well insulated.

You can definitely tell the areas you applied it to. Do you notice much difference?

in my Mazda absolutely. And actually measured 25db in most road tarmac conditions . Naturally the type of material on any given road can increase of decrease interior road noise. Also tire pressure and what tread design and type tires are used.

In my video the only area I could not get to is the one side of the rear pillar area where there was 2 reenforced structural body brackets. The area was so small even if I were to find a way to attach some material I do not think it would make a notable difference.

Somewhere you can see some of the area's added sound reducer material..
