Default madza 626 starter does not disengage

my mother-in-law has a 02 Mazda 626. when you start the car the starter will not disengage. replaced the starter with a new one but the same problem. does anyone know what the problem is? I do know the small wire on the solenoid stays hot after the car cranks up.

Possibly a dodgy ignition switch.

Take a power feed from the battery to the starter solenoid, Engine will wind over, when you disconnect your piece of wire does the engine stop winding over?

my brother-in-law is the one working on the car. what he told me was the starter on the car did not disengage after the car has cranked up. got a new and it did the same thing he checked the power before and after he cranked the car the small wire on the solenoid stayed hot after car was cranked up and stayed engaged. I seen on a post that someone had a similar problem and they unhooked a pressure sensor on the firewall and it disengaged the starter. but I am like you I thank it is the ignition switch but I am not a mechanic
