I've been told by my dealer that they could install a hook up for my iPod in my '06 Madza6...but I would have to give up my Sat service because it won't work if I have both. I ask what the mysterious little media button did because I figure that's wherethe iPod would be controlled fromand they didn't seem to know. Random button for no reason...? Hmm..
I've tried to do a little research on my own and it seems Mazda came out with some switch box that can solve this problem. However, everywhere I look, it seems to reference the M3's. Does anyone know if the same thing would work for the 6? Or, ifthere is something that works for the 6's?
I'd like be as well informed as possible before approaching this subject with them again...or maybe I need to take it somewhere else...thought on that is welcome too.

This is where the ipod, mp3, sat is connected and you can only have 1 of the 3 hooked up.

 

Few questions..

The "Tape/MD" button? Is that how I would access the switchbox or because I have that button, does that mean I dont need the switchbox, Im a little confused about that one.

Does it work with any mp3 player? I was reading it and it kind of said it did but then it started talking about needing different folders(unless i read that wrong). Basically, i have a Zune, will that work with this?

For that matter, is this something I can install on my own without worrying about if I screw up or should I get this installed by someone who knows what theyre doing?
