Default Magnaflow for Mazda 6 V6

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ayproducts.asp

Looking at saving to buy it, has anyone had any trouble putting it and putting into consideration I dont have much car "knowledge", how hard would it be?

Is it loud?

No it is not loud. It is a very nice piece. I myself have it on my 05 V6.

I've got it myslelf, and no it's not loud, just deep and throaty. My only complaint is that I'm having to get the tips evened out because when mounted on my car, one tip stuck out an inch further than the other. Thankfully some of my guys in the shop I work at are taking care of that for me for free. So currently my car is sans mufflers and actually that sounds pretty good too, but definitely prefer the mufflers on as it's more low key.

For nice sounding, quality materials, you'll be paying more. If you go with a cheaper exhaust, it will sound like a crappy car. With the magnaflow, idle sound is very quiet, but when you get on the throttle, it just purrs. With a cheap one, it will sound loud and annoying contantly and you're liable to a cop pulling you over. A friend of mine has a straight through glass pack on his cavalier and it sounds terrible and cops pull him over all the time. Go big or go home.

Thanks for the site! I live in a country town the cops around here are douches to people with loud exhausts ugh... How about the Magnaflow Catalytic Converters they have? Worth the buy or only if you need a CC?

Trust me when i say that the Magnaflows are on of the most understated available in terms of volume, at idle you can't even tell the exhaust is aftermarket. All it really does is give the car a nice deep throaty tone. I really have no clue about the cat as I'm still running the stock cat (can't change to an after market due to SCCA regulations governing mods for my class).

Are there any less expensive exhausts out there that are well known and good ratings? I am seeing now magnaflow at $415, do I need all the piping and crap that comes with it or can I just buy the mufflers?
