Mazda 6 flashing DPF light
Hi,
I've just purchased a secondhand 2007 (07 plate) Mazda 6 TS2 diesal with 93,000 miles.
I've had the car just under a week and now the DPF light is flashing, I've looked over some of the forums and here and don't think the filter is blocked as the EM light is off and it isn't in limp home mode. I haven't done anything with the car except replacing the headlight bulbs with new higher brightness ones.
I've just checked the oil and it's on or just below the X mark on the dipstick. Is the light flashing because the oil level is too high? Is the oil high because the oil is mixed with diesel where it hasn't burned properly in the DPF?
I drove 70 miles yesterday at around 70mph so that should've purged it hopefully? I need to drive home today and am concerned whether it will be safe to drive 70 miles with this light flashing?
Can anyone give any advice please as to whether I can drive it today? Do I need to drain some of the oil off to reduce the level first?
