Ok, so lets go ahead and critique this review. As far as handling like a dream, you're right on, the car is glued to the road and even more so with some fresh low profile tires and maybe a front sway bar. As far as gas millage, if you wanted a car that gets 50 miles to the gallon, then you should have bought a Toyota prius or Honda civic. Then all of us that own a 6 could laugh at the absolutly hidious car you just bought. Not to mention you'd get to see your car about every mile on the road as every joe shmo out there has one (no offense to Joe should he be on this forum). As for the problems you've had, lets say mazda puts out about 5000 of these cars in a year or so (this estimate is based on no real numbers only using as an example), what car company do you know that would have zero complaints about every single car they put out? Some how, and this may seem crazy, eventually there will be a dud in the crop of cars that are being manufactured. You just happen to get one, so now you've gone and dubbed the entire crop worthless. That is totally unacceptable! Why don't you try making 1000 popsicle houses and have every single one turn out exactly as the first? As for you paying $25k for a car, what the hell were you doing spending that on a mazda if what you really wanted was gas millage and not checking the "problem" forums before you purchased? Everyone accepts that a car is always going to eat you're money since the odds of it never having a problem, even before 20k, are slim at best.

The reason I bought this gas guzzling (i get about 24mpg with a V6 and am happy with that), problematic (i haven't had one, granted i only have 5k on it), otherwise wreck of a car is because I wanted a 4 door, cause coupes are just impractical, raise insurance rates by a LOT, and can't haul anything (firends or luggage), and it is the best damn looking 4 door out on the market today. You won't find this car on every block cause people like you look elsewhere due to a desire to conform, and when you do see one you have a respect for it's owner cause they too must have seen past it's minor issues to realize that the mazda6 is just a damn fine car. When you encounter problems with a car, you fix em, I'd doubt very much that if you bought something else you would be able to go 20k without problem, go ahead and check the forums for accords (massive tranny problems all over the place) or how about VW (couldn't hold a candle to the engines in the mazdas) the only car you're going to get the best gas millage and reliability out of is probably a camry, and cheers to you if you want to look like you're 60 years old!

I didn't mean to offend you Mazda Guy, but you are on a mazda forum and dissing the car like kind of offends owners of it, it's one thing to express anger about the problems but don't just put down the entire car. I apologize if my earlier post seemed unnecessarily pointed.

OK....I have had 4 cars in my life, including my 05 Mazda 6, V6. I had an 85 DeVille (V8), an 89 Trooper (4-banger), and a 00 Pontiac Sunfire (graduation gifr from grandparents, couldn't really decline the offer) . I chose the Mazda 6, becaseu i needed something with more room than the Sunfire. I don't like the VW, because unless i am looking at spending more money for a Passat, than the Jetta is just too small. The 6 is cheaper than the Accord. I didn't go out looking for a race car, I went out looking for a reliable good looking car. I have almost 10K on my 6, and have had no problems. I do regular maintance, and as far as the comment about not doing anything to your car for 20K miles, I would love to see the handbook that says no maintance required until 20K on any vehicle. I average roughly 25-27mpg. For a V6, I am quite pleased. I am sorry that you have had not had the experience that I have had. In my opion, this may be the best bang for your buck car. Just had to share my two-cents!

nah. I was really pissed at the time. I had a humilating experience with my Mazda Truck. Some of the minor issues that I am enduring with my 6 are scaring me.

Well thank heavens you would not get a Prius anyway. I missed your initial post that JKoolMan responded to but it must have been a doozie. What kind of problems are you having with your 6 that are scaring you?

yes I got jkool worked up pretty good. Well i took my car in for the shift shock problem the other day. That was fixed. But my car has veered to the right since I bought it, and I have brought twice into Mazda for that problem. They have adjusted camber, and rotated the tires. The reason why I got so frustrated was I only have 5500 miles on it. What is going to happen at 20, 30 and so on.

Is it veering to the right when braking or just when driving down the road normally with no brakes? Also does it veer all the time or just on certain roads?
I kinda liked JkoolMaans speech To the point.
