I've got 110,000+ miles on my 2000 Taurus and it still runs like new (essentially the same 24v 3.0L as in the Mazda6)

Other vehicles within the Ford system that use this powertrain are noted as leaders in quality in their segment (Fusion/Milan/MKZ), that segment includes the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry...

I have a 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 Grand Touring Sedan. So far, I have had nothing but bad luck with the car. I have no modifications on the engine whatsoever, yet my first transmission was replaced at 19,540 miles (grinding from first to second gear)... Mazda gave me a "one-time" new transmission, and now just 7,000 miles on the new transmission, I am encountering the same problems. Did you know that Mazda doesn't warranty the transmissions on their cars? I even bought the extended warranty just so I had some sort of comfort and "piece of mind"...I'm fighting to get them to replace the transmission again, or just refundthe $$$$ I spent on the car, so I can buy something reliable..

I will never buy another Mazda again... Hope this helped you.

Dang! I always assumed that a "powertrain warranty" meant the engine and transmission!

Hmmm. So did I.
Perhaps.... no... can't be.... perhaps we were BOTH mistaken??
Well, the world does work in strange and mysterious ways these days, thanks in large part to the lawyers, politicians and big business "good ole' boys" network.
Have you ever read your owner's manual? I mean REALLY read it? It's so full of legal disclaimers (written by the lawyers) that the actual useful information in it could be put in a pamphlet!!!

Have a look at the ongoingengine problems I have hadwith my 2004 V6 with only 70,000KM (about 44,000 miles)...I recommend staying away...FAR FAR FAR away from this model as there is no engine reliability at all:

https://www.mazdaforum.com/m_12740/tm.htm

My only save was that they replaced BOTH ENGINES at no charge to me...
