RE: Mazda6S - 12,000 miles - Needs New Transmission
I spoke with the service guy at Mazda and he told me that I had an oil seal leak, which I didn't even notice. They were replaceing the clutch release bearings, fly wheel, and something but I cannot remember right now. I will end up talking to a mechanic and finding out exactly what happened, because the guy I spoke to only reads off what is on the screen, they may have my car ready today, which I think is soon since they got it last Friday but hey, Id rather be drivin my car. I'll let ya'll know more once I find things out.

My 06 S Wagon with 24k miles (auto trans) has just started exhibiting a violent jolt when downshifting. Usually it happens when goingfrom 5th (or 6th) to 4th but it also happened the other day when I tried to pullout from one lane of traffic to another.I stepped on it because of approaching traffic and the tranny went from 4th to 2nd with a hell of a bang. I thought I'd need a bucket topick up the parts off the street butit's still working (so far anyway).

well i am schedualed to go get an oil change soon and while im at it i will definitly ask them about this whole shift shock ordeal. hopefully they can help me. like i said before, i am under warranty but i also noticed that this is only for a 03-04 Mazda6 3.0L... i own a complete opposite car; a 05 Mazda6 2.3L
wish me luck on trying to persuade them to fcking take my car or else imma be pissed. i dont see why they wouldnt... it should just bea simple reflash of my transmission control module. i wouldnt also see why it mattered on what car as long as anyone is having the problem should be able to get it fixed free of charge. im surprised there isnt a recall...
