Alright I just got to test drive my first speed6 and I want it now. From what I can tell the may be 1 or 2 more on the lot, so I should be getting a decent price. I am getting 2500 hundred plus an extra 1000 if I finance with them, but not sure what sort of rates they will offer. The price he gave me before incentives seemed high, the model is grand touring but has a sunroof and the NAV. He quoted me right around 31,500 claiming the manager in the store wasn't the mazda manager and I would get a lower price when I came in more prepared to buy(next weekend). The salesman claims to be trying to get me invoice. Researching I found that the NAV will run just under a 1000 invoice, so what prices are you guys getting before incentives because I need some sort of bargaining chip here, I feel I should be paying 28k or less for this especially if I protest the inclusion of the NAV unit I don't want or need. Help with pricing please!

My Speed6 listed for a little over $31,100. Grand Touring with a roof. I got them down $24133 with NO doc fee or paper work fee. I leased it for 309 plus sales tax of $24. First payment down and thats it. 24 month lease with 12,000 per year.

I went on the Mazda website and did a search for Speed6 in my area. Really cool, I knew what the dealerships had instock and could even look at the price sticker on the window of each car. My area has a speical lease deal for $299 per month on a clothe Speed6. I just made them give me a Grand Touring with a roof for $10 more. That took two weeks to get that deal. They had 10 2006 Speed6 there.

Question, are they making Speed6 for 2007???

I think the clutch is a piece of garbage. I have 4800 miles on my speed6 and I noticed that it slips sometimes. But it is not because I burnt it up or anything. I don't even race it. Heck other than an occasion jump on the freeway it never sees 5000 rpm. I have started having to be gentle getting on the freeway because it breaks loose in third gear at about 5000 rpms. It is shady. The clutch is fine, and it works fine in first and usually second, but something weird goes on in third. And sometimes I lose power like the turbo is not going or something. I think that relates to the clutch being a cheap piece because it usually goes away when I let the rpms go down to idle.

Oh and on the auto up auto down issue... pull harder/ push harder. The switch has a double position. It will move just a hair further for the auto up and down.

When you test drive it take in on the freeway and hit high RPMs so you know what you are getting. It is hardly noticable, just a little bit of slipping. Oh and no for 2007 is what I heard.

See you say bring it in for the clutch, but if you read at a website like edmunds, a ton of people listed that... And the loss of power (which even happened to car and driver magazine) Plus I just had it in and they say the clutch is fine and properly adjusted.

Actually I have started to wonder if it is the ESC that is affecting my driving. Hmmm, well one time I smelled burning clutch. Does anyone know what the ESC is doing though? Because it is intended to help control giving it too much gas. I have had fords that stiffen up the steering and become really sluggish from ESC... to the point that you have to reset it. And the power loss comes and goes like a switch... hmmm.

I am a mazda service manager and I own a blackcherry speed 6, for the loss of power issue you are having make sure you have had the loss of power special service policy performed on your car. It is just a simple reflash of the pcm. Also for the auto up and down windows they are programable windows. If they are not working from the driver side master switch that it usually your problem.

Sweet, I was actually thinking of getting rid of the beast because it is so tempermental with the power loss and I hate when it stutters in a left turn with traffic coming.

I will take it on over to mazda next week some time.

Any idea why the clutch will slip in 3rd gear at about 5000 rpms?

I noticed it is when I shift from second at about 6500 rpms into 3rd that it will slip most often... I have to get on the freeway at the crappiest onramp all the time I swear the thing gives you 300 ft to get up to 70 to go with traffic.

You could have a clutch issue, we have seen a couple with problems. We think one of the problems was due to abuse. These clutches will not handle high rpm launches. But if you have not abused it and you are under 12000 miles it is still in warranty. After that all clutch repairs are at your expence. I would recommend a stronger clutch when it does have to replaced. Other than that these are great cars we do not see hardly any problems with these cars. That is one of the reasons I bought one. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
