RE: mazdaspeed 6
If you disconnect your battery for any reason, you'll have to reprogram your windows. From each window's controller, roll the window down, then up and hold the switch in the up position for two seconds. Repeat for each window, including driver's. Should be all set.

don't unplug the battery or pull of the fuse for the windows or you will have to reprogram them. I thought I had a burnt fuse so I pulled it out but I later realized I had the window lock on and then had to reprogram everything. The manual says how to reprogram them and get rid of the 1 inch thing. Why do you guys not like that feature. I love it. When I am at work I use it to crack the windows and when I get back to my car it is 10 degrees cooler inside.
Now about the turbo stuff. Does pulling the cables off the battery do anything to the turbo like mess up settings or anything? For some reason I think my car feels different after I reset the ECU. I read a post about flashing the PCM at the dealer. What is a PCM? is it the same thing as the ECU?

RE: mazdaspeed 6
So I took it in and they reflashed it and checked out the clutch and said it is not repeatable, so they did nothing to the clutch.
I am not too familiar with how a clutch works anyway, but is it possible to check out the clutch without removing it?
I kind of think it is just a light weight clutch that is coming loose because of the force anyway, but it only comes loose when I come from 2nd to third at higher RPMs as I come out of a right turn. It has never slipped going straight, and it has never slipped in lower RPMs or other gears (except one time in fourth, but it is not very often that I am at 5000 RPMs in 4th). I mean really I can just be gentle with it except that I am always using this cloverleaf that makes it slip.
Anyway thanks for the info on the reflash, it is running good and hopefully the clutch issue will either become apparent or go away. And anyway, other than the one time when the clutch smelled burnt, I just thought it was a limiter (like the DSP) kicking in because the car just lost power.
Overall though it is a really good car and was very well dealt with under the warranty.

RE: mazdaspeed 6
I just bought a titanium gray metallic Speed 6 Grand Touring on fri (10/6) - I got my 6 on the sixth... lol. Anyway, I got the car for about 26 after the rebates (plus 8 year, 100K warranty), sticker is around 32K and some change. I went there looking for the s model, but they didn't have any in stock and he gave me this one for practically the same price as the s. Only option I don't have is navigation (don't want, don't need). Since the test drive, I love this car. Handles great, has lots of zoom (haha). No problems with it so far, and it sounds like it's quite reliable, that's why I bought it so late in the production year. They had quite a few at the dealership, and a plethora of 6's. I saw one in the black cherry, it's nice, but too purple for me. Awesome car though, love it, looking forward to many, many happy miles. I recommend going through the internet fleet department if there's one at the dealership you're shopping at, they're more straightforward, and a lot better deal than those hounds that sit out front. I went through NorCo Mazda, if you're shopping in that area, ask for Andrew and tell him Joel sent you.
