Default New Mazda6 Owner...

Hello,

I purchased my first Mazda today and looking for some advice...

The car is Mazda 6 Saloon 2.0d TS2 (136ps) 4d (2003/53), 125k on the clock.

Initial concerns...after a short trip (about 10 miles) driving normally I parked up to test the tyre pressures and the passenger back alloy was very hot indeed (nearly too hot to touch). Stupid question but is this safe? When arriving back home after checking the tyre pressures the alloy was still hot but not as hot as earlier.

Smaller concern...the drivers side electric window doesn't work, the other 3 are fine, just the drivers side. Where should I check first to resolve this?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
James.

There are a number of reasons why the rear wheel could get hot. Low tire pressure will build heat in the tire and obviously the rim.
It could be that the brake does not completely release. The resulting friction will create heat.
The wheel bearing could be bad.

It is hard to tell what keeps the window from working. i would probably check the switch first, then the motor.
