New member.. serious engine dillemas!
Hey all, I recently purchased an 05 6i sedan from a dealer near me, and now about 4 months later it's dead! Sadly I don't have a warranty on it anymore, but a bill that seems to be adding up fast. I'm not too proficient with these engines or mazdas for that matter so any help would be most appreciated!
I went to take the car out to work and about a half mile down the road the car (and what felt like the engine) started to jerk a few times until it just died on me. I couldn't get it to start back up or do anything. I had a nearby Mazda dealer look at it and they said the fuel pump wasn't getting any pressure, so they replaced that, and my spark plugs. They suggested an injection service too, but I turned it down as they said it wasnt completely necessary. They did the work and still the engine wont crank. They then tried pulling a bolt from the cam sensor and said it started right up, but didnt when they put it back in. They are now suggesting replacing that.
I'm already nearly a grand into this before this cam sensor idea... Any suggestions, answers, or clues before this becomes a guess and check ordeal for sure? Thanks for any help!
