Default New tires

I just had a question about what would bea good set of tires to put on my 2004 Mazda 6. I do not want the expenisve performance tires or anything like that and do not want to spend a ton of money. What brands, etc would be good for my car? I was particualry wondering about the Kumho tires because they seem to be cheaper.
Thanks,
Lisa

You can get a Continental (US) tire for about the same price as a Kumho (Korean)

Do a search on tirerack.com and you should be able to find something in a reasonabloe price range. My friend just picked up some Conti's for $75 each mounted (16" wheel)

If you've got 17" wheels, I've had good luck with Toyo Proxes FZ4's, they are around $100-$120 each.

my question is why do people skimp out and get crappy tires? a good set of tires can mean the difference of you seeing the next day in your life.. i love how people will spend money on like a system or performance mods yet get the crappiest tires they can find :\

when it comes to tires I usually say, you pay for what you get. If you plan on keeping your car for a while get some tires that will last awhile. The factory michelin tires are expensive, but they lasted me till almost 60k and they did a great job. I just put Bridgestone Potenza RE050 on and when its dry they are great, but in any other kind of weather they suck. Toyo isnt that bad, I would defently take them over continentals. Good luck

My bad....I haven't personally bought Conti's, but I know they are a good tire, and I'd much prefer them over anything coming out of Korea. They have a North American HQ in North Carolina and they also have domestic US production plants.

I have a Mazda6 sport. I was one of the first buyers around. I bought my car Dec. 9, 2002. It came with the Michelins. They are expensive. They are quiet. They handle nice.I do believe you pay for what you get. On my 2003 Corvette, I had a dilemma of tires. I bought the best tires I could find. Why skimp on tires? Skimp on having that extra latte.

i also have the 17' sport rims

but comon. the Michelins. $200 PER TIRE? u guys know thats wayy overpriced for a "luxury touring tire". if u go to mazda6club, almost nobody replaces with those.

04maz6, the RE050's are nice tires. and do a MUCH better job handling the road than the crappy michelins. and if someone wanted quiet. they wouldntve gotten the 6 in the first place rite?
