Keeping a constant speed, tire pressure, and aerodynamics I guess. Smooth roads help loads as well - I get 36 in most parts of Pennsylvania, but 32 on the Palisades Parkway in Jersey.

well dang. unfortunately we don't have smooth roads in birmingham, and it's like that just about everywhere you go here
