Rear Window Antenna

Rear Window Antenna
First, a belated thank you to baby huey and all others who replied many weeks ago to my post about the power steering flush. My question today is simpler. The owner's manual says that using glass cleaning products on the inside rear window can damage the antenna. It recommends instead a soft cloth dampened in lukewarm water. I usually take my Mazda 6 to the car wash where I have to remind them each time not to spray the inside rear window. They told me that they don't use ammonia-based products, but when I wrote to Mazda to ask if that made a difference, they answered by basically quoting what was in the owner's manual. No one else at the car wash seems to be bothered by this, but there must be other cars that have integrated antennas, right? Or am I the only one who's read the manual? What are your thoughts?

I say that area of glass is pretty hard to get dirty and using a damp cloth every good long time it does get dirty won't kill you. That area would only have to be cleaned maybe once every 4 months.

Well, if you're a smoker, that back window can get pretty nasty. I was an auto detailer for 2 years. We always used acetone free window cleaner on ALL windows (including the back one)...and never had any problems.
