Seat belt won't release

Seat belt won't release
I took a friend out in my 2007 Mazda6, the entire time we were driving the airbag light would occasionally flash, but I didn't think too much of it. We made one stop and everything was fine, then we got home and the seat belt would not release. He was able to stretch the belt and get out of it, but now it is down tight, I can't tug on it at all. On a related note: the car seat and airbag lights are on.
Could it be a sensor stuck in the seat? The only information I can find in the manual is related to the automatic locking; but the seatbelt was not stretched out prior to snapping in, so that should not be active.
Called the dealer a few times today and they told me they would call me back, but they never did. Hoping someone can throw a possible quick fix my way.
Thank you very much
Adam

RE: Seat belt won't release
Hmmm. A co-worker had something similar happen to her with a Ford Taurus-X that she had rented. I didn't get to ask her if any air-bag or seat belt lights came on though. They had to cut the belt to get her daughter out as the belt seemd to get tighter and tighter as she tried to get out.

RE: Seat belt won't release
hey adammmm,
take it back to the dealer ASAP [sm=goodidea.gif]...the entire seatbelt assembly is covered under a DIFFERENT warranty which lasts for 60k. as for the the airbaglights & such....have them take a look too...EVERYTHING is under warranty, provided you havent passed the requisite mileage! but, in short, if anything goes wrong w/your car and your still under mileage.......TAKE............. IT................. BACK [sm=trust_me.gif]
don't even hesitate! [sm=noooo.gif]
