what do they do in this service? The only thing that should be checked is all fluids, tire wear and wheel alignment. The car really should be fine at only 7500 miles, unless you drive the hell out of it! Like lostbethus said, you can do most of those things on your own!

The 7500 mile service is basically an oil and filter change with a tire rotation. In our area it is $39.95 but that price will depend greatly on the labor rate in your area. The rate here is $60/hr on service work but in other areas of the country it is as high as $140/hr. If you want to have the same service level done just ask for an oil change and tire rotate and should come out a lot less $$. Or do it yourself as lostbethus and mazda guy said. Price will be cost of filter and oil. The services advised by mazda are in your owners manual under 'Scheduled Maintenance' as well.

That is true that you can go to a different shop and do it alot cheaper but be consistent in what shop you take it to. This will give you the chance to get to know the mechanics/people who work there. Believe you me when I say that getting along with a mechanic or being a good customer/acquantance goes a long way.

I take mine to the dealer because it is just 1/2 a mile from work and if they ever mess something up I can always trust that they will fix it. I am always willing to pay that extra dollar for convenience and great customer service (Labor/parts/work performed guaranteed).

But if you are barely making ends meet than go cheaper.

don't want to rub it in but I got the saleman to include three oil changes in the buying deal . If you ever get any problems down the road and you don't want any problems with them contesting your maintenance methods or the garage you chose ..... I strongly suggest you stay with the Mazda dealer , like that your service records will back you up when comes time collecting them if you ever encounter zoom-Zoom problems!
