Default speaker wiring

should i keep the stock wiring for my mazda6 or should i get a better wiring. I'm putting in infiniti speakers in my doors. also, is the gage thicker if it is a higher number or a lower?

The lower the wire gauge number, the thicker the wire diameter.

thanks, I couldnt remember how that went. Does anyone think that I should replace my wiring?

I've never bothered replacing wiring in any of my cars before. Get some OEM harness adapters instead of cutting the factory plugs off. Does your 6 have the Bose stereo installed? If so, you won't be able to install the Infinitis as the Bose system requires 2 ohm speakers and most aftermarket speakers, including the Inifitis are 4 ohm.
