Hey gang, first off, I want to thank everyone here that replied with advice..Seems like a good group...

Just got off the phone with the stealership..unfortunately we get beat up with the early termination of the suby's lease..so the deal is kaput..

If anyone is interested, seems like a hell of a deal on brand new 06's
http://driveclassicford.com/Specials-New.aspx

The lease on our suby and acura are both up next year around this time..we will definitely be searching for leftover 07's at that point..if we find another deal like this, me and the wife may both have speed6's.

Thanks again.

Mazda Reliability worrying eh? From Here: http://media.ford.com/newsroom/featu...?release=24804

"IRVINE, Calif. February 23, 2007 - Mazda vehicles have claimed the top place in one of the world's largest- ever reports on vehicle reliability. Nearly 92 percent of the Mazda cars studied, including the MX-5 Miata, aged between three and nine years old, suffered no mechanical failure of any type, outperforming all other brands.
The report, which was issued by independent automotive extended-warranty specialists, Warranty Direct, looked at the reliability of more than 450,000 vehicles from 33 manufacturers, across the United States and United Kingdom. The resulting 'Reliability League Table' shows the number of failures reported for every 100 vehicles covered by Warranty Direct's policies. Mazda was rated number one with a failure rate of just 8.04 percent of vehicles aged between three and nine years old.
Mazda's score compares to failure rates ranging from 8.90 to 24.98 for vehicles in the top ten.
"The exceptional build-quality and long-term reliability of Mazda vehicles is something we have been proud of for quite some time," said Jim O'Sullivan, President and CEO, Mazda North American Operations. "The findings of this recent report reinforce what we've believed all along - that Mazda reliability is not just very good, it's the best. These results are proof that Mazda builds stylish and exciting vehicles without sacrificing quality or reliability."
Warranty Direct was launched in 1997 and is the first and only direct personal warranty company operating in the United Kingdom and United States. As a privately owned insurance intermediary, the firm operates within the automotive and household electrical markets.
Headquartered in Irvine, Calif., Mazda North American Operations oversees the sales, marketing, parts and customer service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States, Canada and Mexico through nearly 900 dealers. Operations in Canada are managed by Mazda Canada, Inc., located in Ontario, Canada, and in Mexico by Mazda Motor de Mexico in Mexico City."

doesnt really matter wut magazines and stuff say.. just go to the 6club forums and read everyone elses problems there are many... ranging from failing ignition coils.. tranny failures and a good number of blown engines. I doubt mazda reports this kind of stuff to magazines and all that jazz. there can be a problem that many people on the forums have had that got serviced at a dealer then when you go in to your dealer they have no clue what your talking about and neither does corporate.. often times stuff is replaced with the same thing that still has that same design flaw and is never reported and just swept under the rug. Even more so the mazdaspeed 6 there are countless problems with it that many people have had.

There are many problems with ANY car and there is also at least 3 out of everyten sold that won't EVER have a problem! It is hit or miss with a new car especially one that is within it's forst few model years!
That is what the WARRANTY is there for in the first place! There are some people that have never had a problem with there new car no matter what they do to it,where they bought it,or what kind it is! That is a FACT! It is truly luck of the draw! I have TWO newer Mazda 6's with two different option packages, different backgrounds, both are driven differently, and only one is modified. The Only thing they have in common really is that I haven't had a mechanical problem with either one! One is a daily driver, and the one that isn't ..............is modified and abused more on the road so who knows? I have been working with cars for 20 years now and no matter what brand or model, there are always a few lemons in the bunch. You take your chances and just hope that if something happens warranty will take care of it or if you are out of warranty,it's something YOU can take care of.

I own an 06 SPEED6 Grand Touring, love it. Amazing handling, the AWD sticks it to the road. Smooth turbo with almost no lag, delivered via a lovely close 6-speed manual gearbox. Understated styling isn't trying to prove anything. Not a single issue to report after 15K miles.
