Default Squeaking while braking?

Hey all, first time Mazda owner here. My 2003 Mazda 6i's brakes occasionally squeak, but I had the brake pads replaced about 6-7 months ago. I took it in soon after to have it checked out, but the brakes looked fine, according to the mechanic. I didn't have much money until a bit recently, so I couldn't afford to do anything. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what to look for, or if I should just go and get the brakes replaced. The sound seems as if it's coming from the rear of the car. Thanks all!

I'd check and see if they forgot to put the shims in when they replaced your brake pads as that will cause an increase in noise while braking.
