Default sudden unintended acceleration

I have 2005 mazda 6 and the car has been great until today, after driving for about 10 mins today it started to accelerate by its self even when I took my foot off of pedal it accelerated and help for a few seconds then it stopped for a few minutes then did it again so I shifted to neutral and pressed the brakes and it did the same thing accelerated then held for a few seconds then idled, I put it back in drive with foot on brake and it started to lunge forward. Its not because of floor matt or because of pressing the pedals wrong. Does anyone know what this problem is??

You could have a vaccuum leak such as a cracked PCV valve hose, intake accordian tube hose. If you haven't changed the PCV valve yet, shame on you as Mazda never inspects it or changes it unless you tell them to!
You could also have a problem with throttle plate sticking---clean your throttle body, maf.
Disconnect battery followed by a depression of brake pedal, before cleaning throttle body, maf-----this way you do not need an assistant when cleaning. Make sure dry before starting. Let idle for 10-15 min before driving.

Make sure If you have a floor mat that it is secure and not stuck under or on the accelerator pedal.

Also early Mazda's with cable throttle had lots of problems with sticky throttles.

Default Sudden acceleration with 2013

We had an accident with sudden acceleration in a 2013 Mazda. We were driving into a parking spot, car was at an appropriate slow speed and then it took off. Driver's foot was on the brake. Accident happened in a few minutes. Any thoughts of what might be the cause? Any thoughts about what one might do about reporting this? Please let me know if anyone has any thoughts or ideas about this. Thank you! I will check about the valves as previously mentioned. ECV is reported as normal by the dealership.

I have the same issue. Could you share how did you solve the issue?
