Suspension Question
New to the forum and getting ready to buy a 6s. My question is: Do all Mazda 6 models have the same spring rates/shocks or do the Sport, Grand Sport and Grand Touring models have different shocks and springs than the base model or from each other?

RE: Suspension Question
Just checked on mazda's website and it doesn't say anything about it. It looks like the sport and grand touring packages are more just the ammenities that come with the car, and what options become available. THe SPEED 6, has diff shocks/springs and stabilizers, but I think the 6 models have the same shocks/springs. I could be wrong though, it wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last.

RE: Suspension Question
yes. ALL mazda6 have identical spring rates. (EXCLUDING mazdaspeed6)
a sidenote. our cars have such high spring rates, thus needing shorter spring/spring travel. it DOES provide a stiff ride.
but damn, ive bottomed out my car more than once. [>:]

RE: Suspension Question
I replaced my suspension about 6 months ago with a full coilover suspension from TEIN It is a Great Ride honestly unless you hit a huge pothole and then nothing saves the ride then as well as the damage to the wheel....Learned that lesson the hard way!

Please tell me more about the "full coilover suspension from TEIN".
I've just bought a Mazda 6 (2010/10 estate, 2.2litre 185 SL) and I appalled by the stiffness of the suspension. It corners reasonably but it feels every lump and bump on the motorway - which is where I spend my life.
I think it's too late to take my car back to Car Giant, so unless I can find a nice soft suspension for motorway driving I guess I'm pretty much screwed. :^(
