RE: taking off brake calipers/brakes...
Changing out disc brakes is typically very simple.
(2) bolts that hold the caliper in place and a couple that hold the caliper bracket to the spindle.
Take those (4) bolts out, rotate the caliper/bracket off of the rotor, remove and replace rotor, remove and replace pads (you need to compress the caliper pistons to do this, it helps to open your brake fluid reservior as you compress the piston back.) As the pads wear, the pistons compress to hold the pads. compressing the piston allows room for the new pads.
Reinstall bracket and caliper to spindle to proper torques, top off brake fluid and you're done.
I can crank out a front or rear brake job in about 1 hour taking my time.

RE: taking off brake calipers/brakes...
alright, the brakes/calipers aren't as bad as i thought... but i found a feature that to me is useless. there are two screws on eat rotor that i believe are used only for the mazda manufacturing line. they truly do nothing, in fact, i believe that you don't even have to put them back in if you decide to take them off.
