Default Test Drove a 6

All I can say is WOW this car is SLOOOOW. I was very disappointed with how slow the car was getting up to speed, it took 11 seconds to get to 62mph (0-100kph) and almost a full minute (50 seconds) to get to 124mph on the highway, once at that speed it is very nice and maintains it wonderfully just the engine is pretty loud and is almost turning 6k, I then drove with the sales guy for about 10 mins at that speed and had no issues other than traffic. They have been trying to sell this car for 3 months now and it wont sell, it has 15,000km on it (2010) and is clean but I dont want it either because when we got back I had them put it on the lift so I could look under it and I saw the reason why it hasnt sold, the rear bumper is new and the whole underside of the trunk is nothing but sealant/goo, it looks like it was backed over a rock and then traded in with nothing but a new bumper and the sealant. They want 9k for it, it did pass inspection though last year (still has 2 months left), bet it wont pass again. Overall I did like the car, just not this model.

No ZOOM ZOOM there! Was it a 4 cylinder? What was the engine size? Was it an automatic? Automatics are slower to 60 mph. 50 secs flooring is not catalytic converter friendly, oh well, not your car! .

It is 4 cy in Austria. V6 is only in USA and Canada Not sure in Mexico.
The mazda6 in other country seems like smaller but better looking compare to US Mazda6.
I think 4 cy is a kind of slow compare to v6. For mpg, I would like to buy 4 cy instead of v6.
I hope 2014 new mazda6 with skyactiv engine should have at least 180 hp.

That's an awfully big and heavy car to expect 122hp to drag it around.
Sadly, it seems Mazda has all but ignored the 6 series as of 2009 (2nd gen cars.) They tried to turn them into family haulers and have sucessfully done so, but lost much of their audience in the process.
Here in the US they come w/either the 2.5L 4 banger (160hp,) or the 3.0L V6, but try to get one with a manual trans..... just try.

Sounds like you need to get your hands on a European import :P :P :P I have not seen an automatic one yet LOL, even the Skyactiv ones are manuals from what I have seen.

On another note I test drove another 6 today, had the 2.2 CRD in it, 182hp@3500 and 300ft.lbs from 1800-3000. WOW does it pull HARD, now that is a fast 6!!!

That's great numbers for that size Diesel. Diesels normally have Ok Horsepower with Great Torque. We don't have any Mazda Diesels over here. That one probably won't pass emissions over here. They are working on a Skyactive Diesel hopefully available soon.
