yea acito i did some research on these HX MXM4 OEM tires

DO NOT get these again.
- its MSRP is $200/ tire! wat wuz mazda thinking puttin these on a 6?
- treadwear is 300 (it wont last too long, from wat i read around 35k miles ish)

u hav the same 17' rims as i do. they are 7' wide and can fit these tire sizes:
- 215/50/17 < OEM
- 225/50/17
- 215/45/17
- 225/45/17

im only 17 so i prefer dry grip over anything. personally id get max-performance summers
ones im considering
-- Michelin Pilot Sport2
-- Yokohama ES100
-- Goodyear Eagle F1
-- Kuhmo ECSTA (very very cheap. its a bargain for a good Z rated tire)
-- Pirelli PZero Nero
if ur lookin for A+S. im not the guy to ask

I'll probably end up getting 50k plus on mine since I am almost at 40k miles and still have 7/32 of tread left. But I put 40-50k cuz I am not quite there yet!

Well I'd say enjoy them up to the 50k miles or so they will last ( with proper rotations according to most users from a previous thread) but when those are worn buy something from th eToyo Proxes lineup. They only thing a Proxy doesn't drive on well is snow (got a 4/10) but in everything else, even rain, it got 10/10, 9/10 and then an 8/10 for rain) My Proxes4 tires are really nice and the Proxes4s are made of a siliconbased composite that gives it maximum grip and the tires barely wear, even after several burnouts by your truely. And copaired to $200 for replacement Mich stockers, they are only $95 t0 $120 (depending on wheel dimensions).

Also Sin6Racer, try buying replacement Goodyear Eagle1 tires for a stock V6 Mustang Convertible $275 a tire!

I traded in the OEMs for 225/45-17 Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S. They are good in dry and wet. I have Dunlop M2s for winter, so don't know how the P Zeros would ride in snow/ice. If you want a softer ride, get 225/50-17.

Where did you trade your tires in to? I want to get rid of my 225/50/17 (stock michelins) [:'(] I am just not willing to dish out money for brand new tires when mine are fine right now..so a trade in somewhere would be nice.

just make sure whatever you replace them with is also in 225/50/17 measurements

WWW/SS/RR

the "W" represent width of rim (in milimeters)
the "S" represent sidewall size (in millimeters)
the "R" represents rim (wheel) diameter in inches

those measure ments are not the name of the tires (I couldn't tell but it seems like you thought 225/50/17 was the name of your tire)

I must ask...how do you know so much about tires? I'm sitting here like "Damn, he knows as much as I do!"

RJB_M16, I don't think he meant he "traded in" his stock tires. He meant that he went and bought new tires because he didn't like the stock tires. That was my gathering.

What do you think is wrong with your stock tires? I think they're wonderful. I got around in the snow perfectly, they handle great in wet and dry weather...so...what is it that you guys are seeing wrong with the Michelin's?

I love my michelins but they are just too pricey.
