TIRES!!
i just picked up my car from having the oil change and they notified me that i need all 4 new tires asap....what recommendations does everyone have as far as going with teh same factory michelins or what about dunlop? anyone have any experiences or advice??
also waht about transmission flush and power steering flush? they also noted that mine is due. i have 46000 miles on my car. i've heard that you're not supposed to take all fluids out of a car that just keep the fluids maintained.
any help here?
thanks

RE: TIRES!!
I have 42,000 miles on my M6s on i just had my transmission flush done at 40,000 so that's right around the time when it needs it. My fluid was pitch black and it is supposed to be a burgandy red color. I believe they use Mercon 5

RE: TIRES!!
flushing the fluids won't hurt it, it'll be better. as for tires I highly reccomend a tire from the Toyo Proxes lineup. I have Toyo Proxes 4s and they work GREAT. I haven't heard of one coplaint from anyone who owns them.

RE: TIRES!!
TIRES: it depends on where you live (you may need 4 season tires when there is snow/ice), how you drive and of course how much you are willing to pay (but more doesn't always mean better). I found the surveys at www.tirerack.com very helpful and their staff is also very knowledgeable. I traded in the stock Michelins for 225/45-17 Pirelli P Zero Nero m+s on my 2006 V-6 with manual trans. and I am very happy with them. Good luck with your research.

RE: TIRES!!
I said mine were good, but just the other day I lost air within weeks on my second tire out of four! So I said #*SFD&* it, Ill break down and get 4 new tires. So after much consideration, and debating on going up to 225/45/R17, I stayed at 215/50/R17 and went with these guys.
Avon Tyres
I got them for only 99 at town fair tire, and they are rated amazing...Had them special ordered, now I got them put on yesterday and on the last rim there was a huge dent and it was crakced on the inside. So now I have 3 brand spankin new tires and infamous small mazda doughnut. ha ha, so it is in my driveway and my gf called a ton of places yesterday while I was at work and found one for 150 bucks, and she will get it monday. SO I cant wait. I doubt mazda would cover the rim since there is a dent on it. Ill let you all know how I like my new tires.

RE: TIRES!!
The stock tires are WAY overpriced for what they are...
I've got 225/45ZR17 Proxes FZ4 on my Mazda3 and they are terrific. They also fit on my wife's Mazda6. At only $104/tire, you can buy 2 full sets of these for the cost of the stock Michelins.
