Used 2006 Mazda 6s Questions
I just recently purchased a 2006 Mazda 6s. This is my first car and although I'm pretty car savvy I could use some help. A week after i purchased the car i filled up on gas. After I was done fueling up the tank i tried to turn on my car and it wouldnt start. I tried different things and then I realized I had to pump the gas while starting my car to get the car going. Once its going the car is shaky and after a mile or so it picks up its regular performance. My check engine light has been on ever since and I ONLY have this problem when I fuel up. I took it to get trouble shooted and they said I have an EVAP leak. What is an EVAP leak and what can be the possible causes for this? I haven't had a chance to get this fully checked out but I want to know what possible things could be wrong with it?
Also... For some reason both my visors are missing the screw that keeps it attached to the roof of the car so I can't fold down my visors without the side falling out and exposing the wires for the light. Does anybody know what size of screw fits the visors?
Besides those 2 problems my Mazda6 isGREAT!
Thanks in advance for any help

RE: Used 2006 Mazda 6s Questions
I am the happy owner of a 2006 Mazda6 S. I bought mine about a year and a half ago and it has been a dependable, fun to drive car. I did have a CEL once (I think it was an EVAP leak too), but a new gas cap solved that. I have never had the car shake or have any performance issues, though. Does the CEL stay on even when the car is running normally? Did the shop or mechanic that diagnosed your car give you any possible soloutions? Not sure about the visor issue though. I don't mean to sound like an alarmist, but if the visors have been damaged I would wonder how well the prior owner took care of the car. Sometimes it's the little things that really matter. How many miles do you have on the car? Do you have any kind of warranty left on it? The Mazda6 is a nice car, and I hope that you are able to get theseissues worked out. Maybe your fuel system needs cleaning; what kind of gas are you using? The nice thing is that it only requires regular fuel, but if you (or the previous owner) havebeen mixing different octanes it may case some problems. Don't be fooled into thinking that high octane gasoline = higher performance. Also, just to be on the safe side, I would reccomend that you replace your PCV valve. It's a fairly simple DIY project that could go a long way to keeping your car on the road.
