RE: Wider tires
ok..your factory tires are 25.46 inches tall, and 8.46 inchs wide
225-50-17 are 25.85 inches tall, and 8.85 inches wide..being wider wont make any difference, but taller will hurt your acceleration, and effect your speedometer reading.
225-45-17 are 24.97 inches tall and 8.85 inches wide, so they will also slightly effect your speedo reading, but they will actually increase your acceleration

RE: Wider tires
there is not a product that I am aware of, but you can take your car to a reputable shop and some have the equipment to recalibrate your speedo............alot of shops that do lifted vehicles with much larger tires have the equipment on hand or the knowledge to recalibrate the speedo. But in all fairness going to a 45 series tire will not affect the speedo as much as one would think, i had a friend done something similar, and at 55 mph on the dash he was actually doing a little better than 53. never hurts to think you are going faster than what you are when it comes to the 5 0.................(less tickets) hopefully.

RE: Wider tires
seriously, it doesn't matter if you choose either 225-50-17 or 225-45-17.
the 225-50-17 is a whoping 1.5% larger and the 225-45-17 is 1.9% smaller. so in actual fact if you are doing 55mph: 225-50-17 will appear very close to 56 and 225-45-17 will appear 54mph (that is if you can read such a guage with any certainty).
i strongly doubt either will rub and in actual fact the larger size is closer to the truth of speed.
it's up to you and i hope you have not taken some of the information on this thread for fact.
