Default 323f sport misfire

hi all just been told about this forum and thought i'd give it a try,I've got a prob and the local garage can't help:
A fewmonths ago my mazda 323f sport '03 started to misfire around the same time when the uk had a fuel additive scare from the supermarket fillin stations ( i think this might only be coincedense--not sure ) anyway i have since tried to fix it myself,i have tried new sparks, oil filter, oil, air filter, sparying carb cleaner into the air/carb tube and even cleaned out the petrol filter but with no joy SO i took it to a local garage and they put it on a dianostic machine but with no luck, they did'nt charge me ( good garage ) but they were not able to help thus tellin me about this forum,Can any one help me before the last step of changing the cat £££'s or more, thanks snappy
ps my ht leads also look fine as i've had a shock from all of them lol.

Hi,you can check the coils by taking it out while engine is running.I you take it out and the car stall it's all fine then.
If no luck, check and clean your MAF sensor with MAF sensor cleaner or electrical contact cleaner.
If no luck again, remove and clean EGR valve which is exactly beneath the TB(throttle body). There is a link http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showt...Rough-Idle-Fix.
Also you said that you had new plugs fitted.Could be a fouled plug.Check the gap should be 1.1mm or .44".I had it on mine after changing plugs and found out there is a plug that was not pre-gapped.
Good luck!!!
