Buying New Mazda 5 gotchas
HI new to forum.
Buying mazda5, but having hard time finding dealer with all the below options available on 5spd Touring:
DVD
Wheel locks
cargo net
cargo cover
auto dim mirror w/homelink
Sirius Radio
Door guards
Bumper step plate
all-weather floor mats
moonroof deflector
MSRP for all above: $2345
The dealer advises the factory will never install these options--so they will charge labor to install these and I just dont think that is right, since the above are OFFERED as options. Why can't they simply order from the factory?
He wants to give me Mazda5 5 spd w/Navigation/inc dest for 20,700 plus charge $2800 for install and labor (don't know if he meant aftermarket, either).
Is he right or am I right?

RE: Buying New Mazda 5 gotchas
i could understand the labor costs if the car was purchased already and you wanted the parts after you purchased your car. but the fact that you are being charged for labor before you purchase the vehicle is just absurd, thats what i believe.
i've purchased parts through chevy and ford when my family bought new cars and they were never charged labor unless it was a performance part that needed real physical labor such as new factory rims.

RE: Buying New Mazda 5 gotchas
Thanks for the responses, I also got the same from some local people here as well.
Anyway I got the dealer to drop the price a grand, and even though I know he is still making $ off it from the holdback (since it's not really true invoice anymore), I am getting it below market value incl dest, all above options and navigation, plus tax.
Thanks for the help!
