I'm old enough to remember the olden days when the vehicle manual was a few dozen pages and the instructions amounted to

1. Insert key in ignition
2. Turn key on
3. Go.

The CX-5 manual is like a phone book (if you're old enough to remember what that is).

Does anyone actually read it cover to cover?

Nope, I download the PDF and use the search function to find the bits I need to learn about, when I need the knowledge.

I do to any new vehicle I buy. I even read the owners manual when I rent a car from Enterprise mostly because they give me a new vehicle with less then 10k miles as I am a long time returning and frequent renter. Most owners manuals you can quickly pass over the normal common things but there is a need to know operation and controls before you drive it . I still think it is funny how people don't know the simple things about their vehicle they drive....take which side to pump fuel? It shows you right on the dash. You know how many don't know that. ROLMAO! . I fly and you bet your **** I read the operation manual from cover to cover before I fly a plane I am not accustomed to! If you go fly with someone and they are not asking your weight I would recommend NOT fly with them! What really is the difference in a vehicle you are not use to driving? I think that getting a drivers licence should be much tougher then it is. And I think that people buying a new vehicle should be required to sign a disclaimer stating that they read or will read the new owners manual. You know in most states you can't buy a fire arm without passing a basic written safety test. I am sure all of you that are into firearms when you get a new weapon you learn how to at least tear it down for service and cleaning from reading the manual but you won't with a new car?

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ve been googling everywhere and trying to find one in English, and also just joined these forums tonight so yay! I’m so glad that I’ve found this! 🙂
