HELLO, & I gotta question....
This Saturday I am going to be bringing home my first MX ever - but what I DON'T know is:
WHAT IS THIS ENGINE?
(the green car at the beginning of the video)
When the sun goes down this Saturday, I will have four Festivas. Two are B3 engines (sohc) and one is a B6T DOHC 16V. The last is a stripped chassis.
And then there is this MX3 - the Festy next to it and the MX I am getting for a grand total of $300.oo (USD), I bet you wish you could find a deal like that!
But what IS that? It looks a little big for a 1500, and it dang sure isn't a B6

No it isn't - I am seriously bringing this car home, and I don't know what that engine is, I am not familiar enough with Mazda Engine series to identify it.
My prior experience is with "OTHER", so I need to know what I have got my hands on here...
It may not even be the original engine for all I know. The guy that owned it died last year, and his whole collection came up for sale.
This was a guy who dropped a B6T into a Ford Festiva...
All that I can tell for sure at this point is that it's a DOHC, 16V, and the engine size is to me an unknown....
That's what I have to find out.
You see the video I shot in real time earlier today - did you think I could fake it?
Let's start out by being friends and fellow Mazda fans for one thing - HELLO!
My friends call me either "Wolfie" or "Dutch"
I've been turning wrenches since early in the seventies. Can we please get over the "YOU AIN'T REAL" part of this?
I really did come here to get help...
THAT CAR I really did snap up for about $150 cash
*Nice F4-U pic in your avatar, BTW. I retired from the USN in '04
4V cylinder head upper chambers have become a passion with me - so I had to have it.
Even if it wrecked my budget.
So NO! I don't know what that is - but I'm guessing it is more than I think. I wouldn't be surprised to find that it was a G3 or a G6
~Will you please talk to me as if I wasn't STUPID?
