Default Hey Guys

Hey guys new to the forum just got a 2009 Mazda 3.

Been looking for a practical but fun manual car for a while and finally found it.
Its in pretty good condition no major problems just a few things that need a little cosmetic work.
First off the front left bumper needs some work the clips that hold it to the body are damaged and the panels loose and hangs out a bit.
I think If I undo the wheel arch and get some OEM clips I can clip it back but not too sure If any of you guys have any advice/know any good OEM part websites I would appreciate it (I'm sure its on the forum if I search).
Could use: a screw or two, floor mats, trunk upholstery (stained/smells a bit).
Also might have something wrong with a 5th gear synchro, driving casually its fine only quick shifts causes it to complain.

Just wanted to introduce my self and my new car
Appreciate any comments,
~Notaneggspert

Hello eggspert, and welcome to the forum.

It sounds like someone may have jammed 5th gear one too many times and the syncro is now weak. But you might try changing the fluid to a good 75w-90 synthetic. It takes 3 qts to fill it.

I do have some suppliers that may be able to help with the clip, but first I would loosen the bumper cover and see what's wrong. It could be a heavy-handed shade tree mechanic damaged the cover itself by pulling on it rather than releasing those clips.

Mats, trunk stuff, other misc stuff... check out eBay, or your local online junkyard.

Thanks, loosen the screws behind in the wheel hub right (thats the bumper cover)?
The previous owner did a lot of highway driving down south till he moved to the DC area then sold the car IE spent most of the 49K miles in 5th.
I'll take better pictures and undo the arch later today. I've got friends that are also into cars and one should be able to fix it if I can't and another guy should be able to diagnose the 5th gear issue.
Think I should start a new thread on fixing it or just keep it all here?
Thanks Virgin
