Hi
Hello to all out there.
My name is David from Scotland. I only recently bought my 1995 626 executive as a daily driver in march. Fancied a wee bit of comfort and smoother softer ride to my other car , a 1990 VW Scirocco.
I never thought at first to buying a mazda but have been delighted by it's power and smooth ride. Was needing the softer ride as I didn't want to put my new born little girl into the bone crushing suspension on the 'rocco'.
I have however had to restrain myself from dropping the 626 a couple of inches and starting to mod it because of this.
Hope to have a gab with you all soon!

RE: Hi
Hey!! WaddoUknow? My mother and grandmother are from Glasgow too!!
Nope!! I lied. My ancestors are from Germany and France, but hey, welcome to the friendliest Mazda forum I know, and I know plenty of 'em!!
I was shopping the 6 series a few years back. The 626's are nice family sedans w/some potential.lot of 'em out there so you know they hold up well. But I was really impressed w/the MX-6's. They appealed to my sporting car nature a bit more, and I like the seating position a bit better too.

RE: Hi
Aloha!!
It's a small world eh!!!! There are two types of people on this earth.......Scottish people and those that want to be Scottish!! Lol
As far as mods go I aint to clued up as to what route to go. I like sublety, a wolf in sheeps clothing kind of idea. Already get a good kick from the stock 2.0l 16v.
Could definately do with dropping her (Mrytle) about a foot!!
Only problem is need the comfort for the little Princess.
I occasionally get the car reving when idle. Bouncing from 1000-2000 rpm. Do I need a new air filter?
Just had a new exhaust and front CV's and tyres for her last MOT. Will need brakes in the next month, discs and pads all round.
Hear from you soon
PS Need to remember the time difference!

When I was shopping for a 6, I kept running into throttle-postion sensor issues... at least that's what I was hearing. It might be a weak link based on what I had heard, and it might be your unsettled idle problem here too.
'Only a guess though.
Have you checked the EGR valve for clogs (and no, I don't mean dancing shoes either?) That will sometimes affect the idle in strange ways.
PVC system and an intermittent vacuum leak might be the cause also.A vacuumgaugeshould tell if that's the problem.I had one of those on a Honda I once owned. Drove me nuts until I finally found the little bugger hiding in a seemingly good vacuum hose.
