Hi, my name is Jim and I am a rotorhead..
I jumped in on an thread and realized I did not do the intro thread, so here we go.
I am an old fekker that has been playing with cars his entire life. I wanted a Porsche 911 when I was 19 but the bank gods said no way. So I got a 1st gen RX7 and then the rotary bug bit.
I have had 3 different 1st gens over the years then took a hiatus to get my career going. Once back to playing car I looked at yet another 911 but could not pull it off. I saw an 1990 GTU sitting on the side of the road and went for it. The price was right.
I quickly decided I wanted a turbo model and sold the GTU for the TurboII I own now. This was in 2000. The TII got mild mods the first year or so then I got into Autocrossing and the mods went kind of crazy. Then I decided to swap in a 1993 FD RX7 motor (13B-REW) and that project became an obsession.
Somewhere int he middle of all this I ended up getting a 1980 Porsche 911 with a 1990 3.6 motor swapped in. 2400 lb car with 350HP. It was a fun car, but when the economy dived, I had to get rid of a toy. The 911 went the RX7 stayed.
I still AX and do DE's from time to time, but I like to head 700+ miles from Florida to North Carolina to play on the fun mountain roads there with some local friends. From the tail fo the Dragon to some secret roads just like it we put many miles in up there.
I hope I can help anyone out with Rx7 specific questions, I have messed with these quite a bit. Hopefully I can meet some members here at events etc... I am trying to decide if I want to run the Miami Mile in January. If I do I will make a thread with video etc..

I have some vids if anyone wants to see them. (Do you see the camera right above this text?)
