hi new here
trying out a mazda CX5 touring this weekend - do you know who rents them since i can't keep this forever?? Also did you guys get an extended warranty? seems like a good idea with all the electronics these days doesn't it??? or is it just overpriced???

If you look at failure rates of any durable goods item over many years you will typically get a "bathtub chart". It starts high and drops quickly to a very low level and it stays there for a long time, then it rises again, first gradually, then quickly.
This period of the initial high failure rate is covered by the manufacturer's warranty. An extended warranty will cover this and the bottom of the curve, then when you really could use it that warranty expires. Most extended warranties will also stipulate that you meticulously maintain your vehicle, with records.
All considered, how much are you willing to spend on something you are not likely to need?
