High pitched ringing noise in cabin! HELP!
Hello Mazda Mates,
I am struggling to digest a high pitch ringing noise in the cabin of my 06 Mazda3 Maxx Sport that is 6mths old. Finally a Mazda engineer has assessed it today as an 'operational noise' from the gearbox when vehicle is in 5th gear. As this is a slight noise in their opinion, Mazda don't class this as a fault (even tho 3 other Mazda3's I've driven of family & friends don't have the operational noise & are same year models)
Mazda's solution to counteract my whinging is to custom make and fit 'Dampers' (hope that's correct) to the cables within the gearbox to minmise the vibration that is causing the noise to occur. I gladly agreed as there is no other alternative except to accept the that the noise is present and I don't think I should have to. I have 2 questions:
Has anyone else experienced this disturbing high pitched ringing noise whilst driving between 80kms - 120kms p/hr?
Should this extra work be covered under my Warranty? (I don't think I should be out of pocket)
I thank anyone in advance who is able to de-stress this young chicky!
