Default Liftgate won’t activate; locks doors instead

On my 2019 CX-3, not only will the liftgate not open when pushing the latch button, it also locks the front and rear doors. Because of this I know the latch button is not broken (I took it off the lead and jumped the wires and it did the same thing). It must be a fault somewhere else in the system. I tried resetting the door locks to factory defaults and that did not fix the issue. Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated.

Depending on model spec, there may be two seperate buttons on the tailgate, one for the tailgate and another for central locking.

Thanks for the reply. Well what do you know? I’ve been grabbing for the wrong button for about a month. I feel stupid and too old to own a new car now.

This should be an easy one for the dealer to address under warranty.

Thanks, I certainly expect this to be covered under warranty. I’d rather not have to make the 40 mile trip to the dealer if someone knows it’s a simple reset through the computer. That’s what I’m really hoping for.
