Default Mazda 6 2005

Just seeing if I could get some feed back out there about my Mazda 6 2005 GG2 2.3L engine which ran out of oil and cooked the engine. Someone gave me 2005 GG1 2.3L engine and I noticed that GG2 runs electronically & GG1 runs on coils. My question is can I use this GG1 engine on GG2 setup or what do I need to do make it work, any help out there will be much appreciated.

Yes, you can use the replacement engine, seen it done before. Use your old intake & exhaust manifolds, throttle, ignition, sensors etc.

The location of the dipstick changes from memory, & I remember someone saying the camshaft & sensor may need changing.
