Mazda 6 DPF
Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and i thought i would tell you of my experience with my Mazda 6 and the Diesel Particulate Filter problems i have had.
As some of you will know the DPF's can be a real headache, and after numerous visits to the dealer to get it regenerated i was told it would have to be replaced at a cost of around £3000.
Having done a lot of research on this i found a company in Kent who could do a DPF delete. They have left the canister in place and removed the guts of the thing. When they did this i was told that they would have to re-map the car which would delete the DPF file from the ECU.
This was done about 8 months ago and since then i have had no problems at all, and the car goes a lot quicker, which i presume is down to the re-map and the exhaust not being restricted by the DPF. Fuel economy is also greatly improved.
All this was done at a fraction of the cost ( £600 ), which i believe to be a bargain.
Hopefully if anyone else is having problems with these awfull things then they can see there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
If anyone wants their contact details they are

Hi Andy,
Glad to hear it worked out for you, I must check out dpf removal here in Ireland cos that sounds like a win win situation!
My Mazda 6 dpf light came on last week and after a dpf clean and reset I'm left with a new problem though. I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem? After a few attempts to do a dpf light reset the engine light is constantly on and the glow plug light flashes. I'm trying to find out something on the interweb but no luck so far.
I would appreciate anyone's thoughts on my new problem....
