Default Mazda cx9

I had a repair shop remove the driveshaft and tell me I could drive without for a while. Waiting on a part. 4 months finally. Now car starting bucking and shaking and wouldn’t move then saw some smoke. Could not get it into neutral to push it. Are these at all related

LOL did I read that correctly????

NO YOU SHOULD NOT DRIVE WITH ONE DRIVE AXLE REMOVED??

Maybe you should be a little clearer the exact part?? Or look at your workorder and see what is written? Or find a diagram of your Mazda and post it with the part circled ?

Welcome to the forum

Can I suggest that when you ask for help to include important information about your vehicle. The year helps along with model and miles.

You may have thought about having one made in just few days and for less money?

This is where I go for myself and my customers
Drive Line Service of West Sacramento, CA (drive-lines.com)

There is other places in the US that are like them, but this is the one I have used since the 1980s"

It’s been put back on for about a month now. Today the car started bucking and then I saw smoke. It would not move. Wouldn’t even move in neutral to push it.

Ok well now you have a whole new set of problems
Because your year is OBDII then you need to have your ECU scanned for Active and pending DTC (diagnostic codes) and see what the state of the readiness file is regarding the monitors.
