Question New CX 50 - warranty coverages from dealership

Hi all,

I am new to the Mazda family. Had driven Honda mainly throughout my life. Just recently booked a CX 50 and the finance team is behind me for these comprehensive coverages.
I wanted to take your suggestion on the same before reaching out to them. Anyway for 3 years default warranty is there and i believe most of these things comes under default warranty.
Am sharing the details shared by Mazda. Please advise.

The only thing I can say is the basic WARRATY from MAZDA covers the important system very well. If at the or close to the end of your warranty is where some might read and learn about an extended warranty coverage after the factory has run out?
You may also contact your Auto Insurance carrier and ask them some advice.
Check with the BBB
Also Consumer reports

Most all forum members no matter the platform (platform is make of vehicle) generally will be against getting them. And very fewer members post when having and using them they were completely happy.

Thanks for the info. I will have the default warranty extended up to 5 years then.

Also, another thing - do you have any idea about the documentations required to move a car from Canada to USA?

Each state is different. You need to contact your states DMV and possibly Highway Patrol for the state you are planning to bring it into?

As for the extended WARRANTY is not from MAZDA (unless it legally states that on the contract) so that means it is an independent warranty contract 'retailer". So, I would read all the fine print and details.
So if it is a 5 year extension from the normal Mazda warranty then you are putting a lot of faith in a company and hopefully won't sell off too many times or worse go belly up in the next 7-12 years.

You will also have to contact US Customs to find out to import the Vehicle.

I'm a person that purchases service contracts. I have them on my CX-5s, previous 4Runner, F150, Equinox, Outback, Vibe, Grand Prix, and LeSabre. On two of those cars the contract saved me big money. My Equinox suffered a busted connecting rod bearing and needed a new engine which ran $7500 for the 3.6 V6. It also lost a speaker, two hub bearings, and a brake booster - all covered. The F150 had a transmission failure and ran $6000. It also lost hubs, the infotainment HMI failed, and a door receiver. My Vibe was probably the worst contract investment as the only issue the car ever had through 300,000+ miles was front bearings covered under warranty. But, the peace of mind has a value also. The Pontiac Vibe (Toyota Matrix/Corolla powertrain) was an epic car.

That said, while I am a proponent, read and understand the contract you are buying. There are often exclusions on even the most comprehensive contracts. There are also requirements for maintenance. It's not scams, it's just the business. Read and understand so you know what to expect. For example, most contracts except struts, upholstery, and many exhaust components.

Something to think about and consider before purchasing extend warranty plans/contracts.

In our service shop we get pre-approval and a signed work order that the customer is responsible for any labor or parts not covered for a warranty service. BEFORE we do the service. You would be surprised how many of those warranty converges have their own definition of what parts should be replaced and what does not warrant a part replacement in a service! This leads to the customer more often than not upset at us then warranty company. So, make sure you ask the detailed questions before you buy one!

The other important thing is to keep records of all service no matter how mundane (example: proper psi in tires) to show that you are prudent at doing scheduled as well "PREVENTITIVE" maintenance
