New to forum and just test drove CX-9
Hi all. This morning I test drove a new Touring CX-9 in white with black interior. I'm in western NYS and need the awd capability for the snowy winters. CX-9 fit me very well and I was impressed with the torque from the 2.5 turbo engine, even when not getting into the turbo. Suv is equipped with Yokohama tires, and I noticed there was quite a bit of road noise entering the cabin. I'm wondering if the fact that the tires are probably not set to the correct psi, maybe over inflated, would cause higher road noise. Or is the CX-9 NOT a very quiet vehicle normally? Any comments are appreciated, and how do you think the CX-9 holds up long term? Don't want to pull the trigger on a purchase if there are things I'm not seeing/hearing that might give me major buyer's remorse.

Not sure how you are comparing the noise level of the MAZDA you test drove? Honestly that would be a personal preference on your own judgment of what is more noise than you are used to ,what vehicle you are comparing it to and also even the tires on the model you test drove , tread and psi set not to mention what type and condition your test drive road was like and also how did you compare the noise level without driving your other vehicles on that same road and driving condition?
To be honest we were shopping for a new daily driver it was a Honda, Ford and Mazda, and of the 3 the Mazda . I did not like that it was down on power comparing the other 2 and I did not like the noise level also comparing the other two candidates for the new car.. Well I am so glad I decided on the Mazda. Changing the tires helped reduce the road noise level and after the engine was broken in there was a nice power level. At close to 45 K miles I have not had any problems or issues! Oh great I just made a comment similar as our newest other member of the forum Blatto on anther thread today .. LOL
